The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's tennis team began competiion at the ITA Midwest Tournament & the Gustie Invite. 

The Warhawks had six individuals competing in the singles bracket, with two advancing to tomorrow after an undefeated first day. Gracie Ha (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) received a bye in her first round, then won her next two matches in straight sets. Ha will take on Noor Omar from host school Gustavus Adolphus tomorrow. 

Kaitlyn Remke (Johnsburg, Ill./Marian Central) also advanced after a 3-0 day. Remke opened the day with back-to-back 6-1,6-2 victories. In her third match, Remke took the first set 6-2 but then dropped the second 2-6. The freshman closed out the match on a 10-7 tiebreaker. Remke will take on the second overall seed Lauryn Douglas from Bethel tomorrow. 

Over in the Gustie Invite, Abigail McIsaac (Fairview Heights, Ill./Belleville East) reached the semifinal match of her draw. McIsaac opened the day with a 8-0 victory, then followed it up with a close 8-5 quarterfinal match. McIsaac then fell in the semifinal 3-8.

The ITA Tournament & Gustie Invite will continue tomorrow with both singles & doubles actions.
