Brandon Miles Joins Warhawk Cross Country, Track and Field Coaching Staffs

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has announced the addition of Brandon Miles to the Warhawk Cross Country and Track and Field coaching staffs. In addition to his responsibilities as an assistant coach, Miles will serve as a lecturer in UW-Whitewater's Finance and Business Law Department.

"We are extremely excited with the addition of Brandon Miles to our coaching staff in both cross country and track and field," said Head Cross Country Coach Jeff Miller. "Brandon is well connected in the Wisconsin High School Coaching community and will bring us valuable recruiting potential and knowledge. He has very strong social media/computer skills that will help our program be more efficient and relevant. He has already made strong connections with several of our current athletes that will make for a seamless transition this fall."

Prior to coming to UWW, Miles coached 13 years at the high school level in Wisconsin, including the last 10 years at Janesville Craig High School where he served as the head coach of the cross country and track and field programs.

Under his guidance, high school athletes set four school records and collected seven state cross country medals, with one individual state champion. Distance runners competing for the track and field program set three school records and collected eight state medals with state champions in the 800, 1600, and 3200. He also coaches two individuals two state runner-up finishes in the 800. While at the helm, Miles frequently led Craig's cross country teams to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association State Meet. Most recently, both the boys and girls teams earned sectional championships in 2024. The Craig girls finished fourth at the state meet in 2017.

Miles has aided in running the prestigious Midwest Invitational Cross Country event since 2015, and helped expand the meet into one of the largest high school cross country meets in the nation.

Miles ran for Monroe High School where he was a member of two state champion 4x800 relay teams and a state runner-up cross country team.

"I'm thrilled to be working with the Warhawks and furthering my coaching career," said Miles. "Coach Miller has developed an exceptional program and I'm excited to go to work helping where I can and learning as much as I can."
