UW-Whitewater set the program record on the uneven bars at a tri meet featuring Western Michigan and Northern Illinois Sunday afternoon. The Warhawks registered an overall team total of 193.400 - the fourth-highest in program history.
In a meet that had a number of highlights, the uneven bars shown brightest.
Kelsey Kollhoff (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg) scored a career-best 9.85, tied for the second-highest individual score on the apparatus in UWW history and tied for second at the meet.
Paige Magel (Cary, Ill./Prairie Ridge) and
Ariana Goodwin (Elgin, Ill./The Einstein Academy) also posted career-bests with 9.8s to secure a share of fourth.
Gracie Talley (Collierville, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian) (9.75) and
Ava Pesch (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) (9.675) rounded out the record-breaking five.
The Warhawks' vault squad tied for the third-best team total in program history with a 48.475.
Alayna Fern (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville) led the way with a 9.75 to share fourth followed by a pair of 9.7s from
Brianna Balian (Peoria, Ariz./Sunrise Mountain) and
Elaine Copeland (Arlington, Texas/University Prep). Pesch scored a 9.675 and
Maliyah Pound (Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park) posted a 9.65.
Kollhoff and Copeland bolstered another top 20 team total on the floor. The duo each scored 9.775 to share sixth.
Tegan Haberstock (Alberta, Canada/National Sport School) and
Zoe Jenks-Recker (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) each scored 9.65 while Goodwin and Magel registered matching scores of 9.55.
Kollhoff claimed a share of third on the balance beam with a 9.75.
Ashnaya Gupta (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) (9.625), Sophia Spadafora (9.6), Haberstock (9.55) and
Chloe Hammond (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny) (9.125) rounded out the scoring five for UWW on the apparatus.
UW-Whitewater will wrap up the regular season at home against UW-Eau Claire Saturday, March 1. That meet is slated for a 4 PM start in Russell Arena. The Warhawks will head to the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional on March 8 in La Crosse with the NCGA Championships set for March 22 in St. Peter, Minnesota.
