Gracie Holland (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) set the program record in the pole vault once again to bolster the Warhawks at the Caged Eagle Invite hosted by UW-La Crosse Friday evening. The UW-Whitewater men's squad finished fifth in the overall team standings while the women were sixth.
Holland, who already held the program record, set the new mark with a height of 4.09 meters (13-5). That mark is also a UWL facility record and a meet record while improving her height on the national performance list. She added a fourth place finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.31 meters (17-5.25).
Brady Schaller (Winnebago, Ill./Winnebago) added points to the team total in the pole vault on the men's side with an eighth place height of 4.58 meters (15-0.25) while
Lincoln Begin (Greenfield, Wis./) was the runner-up in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.12 meters (23-4.5).
Chris Kalies (Grafton, Wis./Grafton) posted a top ten time in the 200. His career-best clocking of 22.31 is sixth-fastest in program history and was sixth at the invite.
Kenni Czarnecki (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) also tallied a career best and a program top ten. Her toss of 13.07 meters (42-10.75) is tied for sixth in the history books and was fourth Friday.
Marlon Cystrunk (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) paced the UWW men with a gold in the 60 hurdles. He crossed the line in 8.10 to win the event by over a tenth of a second. A pair of Warhawk women added points to the team total in the 60.
Cici Stennett (Barrington, Ill./) led the way with a time of 7.80 for fourth while
Dakota Mitchell's (Sun Prairie, Wis./West) 7.89 was good for seventh.
Kobe Chandler (Beloit, WI/Memorial) added sixth place points for the men with a 49.82 in the 400.
Three Warhawks finished among the top eight in the 800.
Katie Erb (Winnebago, Ill./) secured bronze in the women's race with a clocking of 2:20.01. In the men's race,
Colin Lewandowski (Elmhurst, Ill./York) was the runner-up with a time of 1:56.20 while
Landen Bratt (Waukesha, Wis./West) crossed the line in 1:59.13 for seventh.
Bryce Faith (Oconomowoc, Wis./) finished sixth in the 3,000 with a time of 8:44.77 while Abby Wedwick was seventh in the women's race with a time of 10:49.32.
Brynn Fuerstenberg (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) and
Jared Sudbrink (Grafton, Wis./Grafton) claimed top eight finishes in the high jump at the meet. Fuerstenberg tied for eighth with a mark of 1.56 meters (5-1.25) and Sudbrink was seventh with a leap of 1.87 meters (6-1.5). In the triple jump, three Warhawks added points to the team total.
Emily Mohs (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) was seventh in the women's competition with a distance of 10.0 meters (32-9.75).
Max Wallace (West Allis, Wis./Hale) led UWW in the men's competition with a jump of 13.90 meters (45-7.25) for fourth.
Connor Anderson (Waukesha, Wis./North) was sixth in the event with a mark of 13.79 meters (45-3).
Ryleigh Czarnecki (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) (15.66m/51-4.5) and
Sean Larsen (Waukesha, Wis./South) (16.90m/55-5.5) each finished fourth in the weight throw.
Next up for the Warhawks is the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by UW-Stevens Point next weekend.
