Three Warhawks claimed gold in their brackets to lead the UW-Whitewater wrestling team to a second place finish at the Pete Willson Invitational hosted by Wheaton College this weekend. 

UWW finished with 142.5 team points - just eight points off of the leader UW-Eau Claire. UW-La Crosse came in third with a team total of 112.5. Jalen Dunson (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park River Forest), Dominik Mallinder (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) and Brayden Peet (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) bolstered the phenomenal team finish by winning their respective brackets. 

Over the course of the two-day invite, Warhawk wrestlers compiled a 37-14 record with seven major decisions, seven technical fall victories and six falls. UWW will compete in the Don Parker Open in Eau Claire next Saturday in the team's final action before the WIAC Championships. UW-Whitewater will host the conference championships on Saturday, February 15.
