The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team opened up their 2025-26 season with the Pointer Open. 

The Warhawks went a combined 38-26 over the whole day of competition. Logan Defillipo highlighted the day with a 4-0 finish to take first place in the 165-Silver Bracket. Defillipo had two technical falls & a major decision on his way to victory.

Owen Kooima (Waupun, Wis./Waupun) tallied a second-place finish at the 285-Silver Bracket. Callen Kirchner (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Schaumburg), Ben Vazquez (Antioch, Ill./Antioch), & Hunter Syzskiewicz all took third place in their respective weight classes. 

The Warhawks will be back on the mat next week for the home dual opener against UW-Oshkosh. The match is set to begin at 7 PM on November 6th.
