The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's cross-country team competed in the Blugold Invite at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax on Friday morning. The meet, originally scheduled for the evening, was moved up to the morning due to heat.
The Warhawk men's team competed in both the Varsity race and the Open. The Men's Varsity race started the day, and UW-Whitewater finished 7
th overall out of the 34 teams competing, totaling 186 points.
Dan Anderson (Eau Claire, Wis./McDonell) highlighted the Warhawk varsity, crossing at 25:08.4 to finish 10
th place overall out of the 334 runners.
Alex Metko (Brillion, Wis./) also finished in the top-25, crossing at 25:33.8 for 20th overall.
Jonah Block (Whitefish Bay, Wis./) was the third UWW runner to cross at 25:53.0 for 34
th place.
The rest of the Warhawk runners in the Varsity raced finished in the top half of the runners with

Nick Wendl (Milwaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) - 27:36.0 (151).
Following the Women's Varsity race, the Warhawks had a strong showing in the Open race. UW-Whitewater finished 2
nd overall with 53 total points, just behind UW-Platteville with 48 points.
Tucker Johnson (Poynette, Wis./) was the first Warhawk to cross in the open, timing in at 27:09.5 to finish 9
th overall.
The Warhawk cross country team will take next week off, before heading down to Rock Island for the Augustana Interregional. The highly-competitive race takes place on October 18th.
