The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's and women's cross country team competed in the UW-Oshkosh Open on the XC Ranch on Friday afternoon. The men's team placed second, right behind conference-opponent UW-Platteville. The Warhawk women won the later race, with four runners in the top-10 individual finishers.
On the men's side
Ryan Van Dam (Glen Ellen, Ill./Glenbard East) led the Warhawks finishing 8th overall with a time of 26:07.0.
Drew Davey (Elkhorn, Wis./) closely followed with a 26:14.9 for 12th place. Freshman
Avery Erickson (Barrington, Ill./) helped the Warhawks with 15th place at 26:31.2, with Rhett (18th - 26:26.2) Reuter and
Tommy Conklin (West Bend, Wis./East) (20th-26:27.7) rounding out the Warhawk scorers.
Also running in the first race was
Adrian Ahuatl (St. Charles, Ill./East) - 26th at 26:45.2 at 26th,
Braylen Rennhack (Hartford, Wis./) – 27th 26:47.7 at 27th,
Jordan Loferski (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Hamilton) - 26:56.5 at 31st,
Ben Piontek (Green Bay, Wis./Preble) - 27:03.1 at 33rd,
Felipe Wickler (Batavia, Ill./) - 27:04.0 at 34th, and
James Belus (Oconomowoc, Wis./) - 27:36.1 at 45th.
The women's side was had all five scorers in the top-11 finishers, with
Miranda McNally (Downers Grove, Ill./North) leading the way with a fourth overall finish at 24:10.9. McNally was immediately followed by three Warhawks placing 5th, 6th, and 7th.
Carleen Snow (Rio, Wis./DeForest) at 24:12.1,
Brinley Everson (Waunakee, Wis./) at 24:16.3, and
Madison Wnek (Batavia, Ill./) at 4:27.2.
Lily Watson (Kiel, Wis./) rounded out the scoring five with an 11th place finish, crossing at 24:41.4
The Warhawk women had nine more runners, with five finishing in the top-20. The top 20 runners included
Brielle Scoles (Kewaskum, Wis./) - 24:51.3 at 13th, Bela Delgado - 25:23.6 at 16th, Addi Kowalelski - 25:26.4 at 17th,
Kya Krenz (Osceola, Wis./) - 25:26.9 at 18th, and
Emma Shingledecker (New Berlin, Wis./West) - 25:31.3 at 19th. The remaining four Warhawks were
Abby Motz (New Berlin, Wis./Eisenhower) - 25:41.3 at 25th,
Hailey Bilodeau (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) - 26:12.9 at 29th,
Kylie Ludwig (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) - 26:42.2 at 33rd, and Madelin Muehr - 26:42.7 at 34th.
