The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team blanked UW-Oshkosh on the road in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual Saturday afternoon.
Jalen Dunson (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park River Forest) opened the dual with a technical fall over JP Culver, racking up the 17-1 victory in just 2:19. The 133-pound bout was a forfeit for the Titans with UWW's
Tyler Weidman (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake Central) picking up the win.
Cole Stonitsch added four points to the team total with a 15-4 major decision over Logan Harel at 141 pounds.
Lucio Morgan (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) tallied the first of five falls for the Warhawks with a 1:34 pin of Leonardo Ruggiero at 149 pounds. At 157,
Luke Swan (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) made it back-to-back pins with a fall over Jacob Hibbard in 4:34.
Brayden Peet (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) topped Ryan Bergman by 22-6 technical fall (6:45) at 165 pounds followed by a
Ryan Riser (Bloomingdale, Ill./Lake Park) technical fall (17-1 in 4:28) over Kyle Rasper at 174.
UW-Whitewater closed the dual with three consecutive pins. At 184 pounds,
Gavin Kohel (River Falls, Wis./River Falls) registered the fastest fall on the day - 1:49 over Elijah Matzke.
Evan Danowski (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) pinned Vincent Bird in 2:49 at 197 before
Isaak Smith (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah) closed the match with a 6:09 fall over Camden Harms.
The Warhawks will head to the National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa next weekend.
