Warhawk Men Place 2nd in Final USTFCCCA Program of the Year Standings

UW-Whitewater landed on the Program of the Year podium for the first time in program history.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Men's Cross Country/Track & Field team placed second in the final rankings for the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Program of the Year.

The USTFCCCA Program of the Year Award honors the institution that has achieved the most success in each academic year (spanning the cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field seasons) based on the institution's finish at the NCAA Championships.

To be eligible for the award, teams must qualify for each of the NCAA Championships. Scoring is based on the team's finish at each NCAA Championship in cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field (i.e. 1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points … 31st = 31 points) with the lowest total score for all three championships combined determining the award winner. Ties among schools split points for positions taken.

The Warhawks were second at the mid-year update with 14 points, finishing 10th in Cross Country National Championship and 4th at the Indoor Track and Field National Championship.

After a 6th-place finish at the Outdoor Track and Field National Championship, the Warhawks finished second overall with 20.5 points. This marks the first time that UW-Whitewater finished in the top five of the Program of the Year rankings.
