The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's gymnastics team registered a 191.975-186.175 win over Gustavus Adolphus College in the team's regular season finale in Whitewater Friday evening. The Warhawks' total is tied for 12th in the program record book.
UWW swept the top five spots on the vault to open the dual.
Ava Pesch (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) paced the Warhawks with a 9.625.
Carleigh Moore (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) was the runner-up on the apparatus with a 9.6 while
Danielle Dudziak (Lorain, Ohio/Amherst Steele) and
Chloe Hammond (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny) tied for third with matching 9.55s.
Elena Bailey (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior) rounded out the scoring five with a vault scoring 9.525.
Kelsey Kollhoff (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg) and
Paige Magel (Cary, Ill./Prairie Ridge) bolstered UW-Whitewater's uneven bars total of 48.150 - tied for the 10th-best in program history. Kollhoff's 9.725 was tops at the meet while Magel's routine scored a 9.7 for second.
Carley Scott (Oak Grove, Mo./Grain Valley) (9.6),
Estee Flom (Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek) (9.575) and Pesch (9.55) secured fourth-sixth place in the event.
On the balance beam,
Sarah Knetzke (Ozark, Mo./Springfield Catholic) registered the top score of the day in any event with a 9.85. That mark is tied for fourth-best in program history for the Warhawk who already owns the record in the event. Hammond claimed second with a 9.75 on the beam.
Ashnaya Gupta (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) secured fourth with a 9.475 followed by Magel's 9.4.
Tegan Haberstock (Alberta, Canada/National Sport School) rounded out the scoring five with a 9.35. The Warhawk combination on the beam wrote their names in the UWW record book with a 47.825 on the event - a top 20 mark.
UW-Whitewater dominated on the floor in the final rotation of the dual. Kollhoff had the top score in the event with a 9.725. Bailey, Haberstock and Dudziak all tied for second with routines scoring 9.65. Moore's 9.475 was the fifth score to count toward the UWW total.
Both the Warhawk and GAC seniors were recognized after the conclusion of the meet.
UW-Whitewater will head to Minnesota for the 2024 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association West Regional Saturday, March 9. Hamline University will host the event as teams battle to punch their tickets to the NCGA Championship.
