The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's gymnastics team topped UW-Stout 191.300-190.375 Saturday evening in Russell Arena.
The Warhawks registered top 25 team totals on the vault, uneven bars and floor exercise in the dual.
Kelsey Kollhoff (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg) had a phenomenal performance on the floor to bolster the UWW victory. Her 9.85 sealed the win and ties for the third-highest floor score for a Warhawk in program history.
UWW opened the dual on the vault.
Elena Bailey (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge Senior),
Carleigh Moore (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) and
Chloe Hammond (Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny) shared first place honors with vaults scoring 9.725.
Ava Pesch (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) added a 9.6 in the event with
Danielle Dudziak (Lorain, Ohio/Amherst Steele) rounding out the scoring five with a 9.525. UW-Whitewater totaled 48.300 in the event - tied for the seventh in the UWW record book.
Kollhoff was tops on the bars. Her 9.625 was tied for the top score Saturday. Meanwhile,
Carley Scott (Oak Grove, Mo./Grain Valley) finished fifth with a 9.575 followed by a 9.55's from
Gracie Talley (Collierville, Tenn./Briarcrest Christian),
Paige Magel (Cary, Ill./Prairie Ridge) and
Hayden Gough (Dallas, Texas/Dallas International School). The Warhawk total of 47.850 in the event ties for 19th in the program record book.
Dudziak led UW-Whitewater in the third rotation. Her performance on the balance beam scored a 9.6 for second in the event. Hammond secured fourth with a 9.475.
Tegan Haberstock (Alberta, Canada/National Sport School) added a 9.4 followed by
Sarah Knetzke (Ozark, Mo./Springfield Catholic) (9.125) and Kollhoff (9.05).
The dual was close heading into the final rotation. A pair of Warhawks tied for sixth in the event while another pair shared fourth-place honors. Kollhoff anchored the squad as the sixth Warhawk to compete in the event. Haberstock and Knetzke each registered scores of 9.625 with Moore and Dudziak posting matching 9.7's. The crowd erupted when the scores flashed for Kollhoff's routine showing the 9.85 - the top mark on the floor at the meet.
UW-Whitewater will head to Oshkosh to take on the Titans in a dual February 23 before returning home for the regular season finale March 2. The Warhawks will host Gustavus Adolphus in that final meet before heading to the WIAC/NCGA West Regional on March 9.
