The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater softball team fell to UW-La Crosse 7-3 Friday afternoon at the van Steenderen Softball Complex. The Warhawks will face UW-Stevens Point Saturday at 10 a.m. with the winner advancing to the title game against UWL at 12:30 p.m. 

Back-to-back homers for the Eagles in the first inning gave UWL an early lead. The Warhawks cut the deficit in half plating a run in the second inning courtesy of a La Crosse miscue. 

UWL added a single run in the third before a three-run homer in the fifth gave the Eagles a 6-1 advantage. 

Facing a 7-1 deficit in the seventh, the Warhawks were able to plate two but couldn't mount the comeback. 

Maddie Koenings (West Bend, Wis./West) led the UWW offense going 2-3 with an RBI. 

In the circle, Maddy Anderson (Waukesha, Wis./North) suffered the loss allowing three runs in two innings. Rhiann Dick (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) and Brooke Hock (Green Bay, Wis./Preble) closed out the game for the Warhawks.
