The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team defeated UW-Stevens Point 36-7 on the road Friday evening.
The Pointers took won the 125-pound bout as Luca Paladino defeated
Jonah Edwards (East Troy, Wis./East Troy) by major decision 13-2. The Warhawks' Dominick Mallinder responded with a pin over Blaze Thurber in 4:29 at 133 pounds.
UW-Whitewater would take the next six weight classes.
Ethan Pogorzelski (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) topped Cooper Peterson by technical fall, 18-2 (7:00) at 141 pounds. At 149,
Scott Busse (Chicago, Ill./Lake Zurich) won by 7-3 decision over Riese Thornberry.
Jermaine Butler (Homewood, Ill./Homewood-Flossmoor) followed with another technical fall, 18-1, over Eason Hull at 157 pounds.
Brayden Peet (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) picked up a 5-1 decision over Josh Huess at 165 followed by a technical fall for
Gavin Kohel (River Falls, Wis./River Falls) at 174 pounds (over Cody Weix, 19-4, 6:00).
Ryan Riser (Bloomingdale, Ill./Lake Park) tallied four nearfall points near the end of his bout at 184 pounds to defeat Trystan Altensey by 10-4 decision.
At 197 pounds, Logan Neitzel defeated
Ryan Rambo (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) by 6-2 decision. In the final weight class,
Cadin Koeppel (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) needed just 25 seconds to defeat Ryan Dykes by fall.
