Rachel Lewellen (Ripley, Miss./Ripley) of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team is featured in the latest edition of Getting To Know The Warhawks Presented by UW Credit Union.
 
Lewellen has helped the Warhawks to an unbeaten record against Division III opponents during the 2022 season. She holds a season average score of 9.638 on vault and hasn't scored below a 9.550 in the event. Lewellen recorded a career-best 9.750, tied for the 16th highest in program history, to help UW-Whitewater tally a team event score of 48.200, fourth highest in the team record book.
 
Lewellen missed the shortened 2021 season due to injury but was recognized as Scholastic All-America by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA).
 
In 2020, Lewellen garnered National Collegiate Gymnastics Association West Region All-Championship Team and All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades on vault. She finished with a season average score of 9.350 and helped the Warhawks qualify for the NCGA Championship with a runner-up finish at the WIAC Championship/NCGA West Regional. Lewellen was also named Scholastic All-America by the WCGA.
 
As a freshman in 2019, Lewellen helped UW-Whitewater finish third at the NCGA Championship with a season-best vault score of 9.600 at the national meet. She averaged a 9.278 for the year.
 
A three-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, Lewellen will graduate this spring with a degree in physical education with emphasis in health, human performance and recreation and a minor in strength and conditioning. She is a six-time member of the UW-W Dean's List.
