The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team, ranked eighth according to the National Wrestling Coaches Association in dual competitions, went 3-0 at the Gator Boot Duals held in Nashville, Tennessee Saturday. The Warhawks topped No. 19 Olivet 30-9, No. 11 Baldwin Wallace 20-16 and unranked York College 29-9. Results of additional exhibition matches were not available at the time this story was posted but will be added when available. 

One of the biggest highlights of the day for UWW came in the second dual of the day. Tyler Klein (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) stepped into the circle to face defending national champion at 125 pounds Jacob Decatur of Baldwin Wallace. In a close bout, Klein pushed Decatur to overtime and registered a takedown to secure the sudden death victory. 

A number of Warhawks were unbeaten Saturday including Jaritt Shinhoster (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Barrington) who went 3-0 with a pair of pins. Dakarai Clay (Madison, Wis./Madison East), Ryan Vedner (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) and Ryan Riser (Bloomingdale, Ill./Lake Park) were also 3-0 while John Fortugno (Armonk, N.Y./Byram Hills) was 1-0 with an additional 1-0 exhibition win against York. Jacob Kaminski (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) also picked up a win in his only bout in dual competition on the day.
