The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team posted its highest team score of the 2022 season Sunday afternoon, tallying a 190.025 to defeat UW-Stout and Winona State in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tri-meet in Winona, Minn.
The Warhawks started the meet on the balance beam and totaled a 46.825.
Emily North (Oklahoma City, Okla./Moore) led UW-W with a 9.600, good for a tie for second place, and
Lauren Goble (Aurora, Colo./Legend) placed fifth with a 9.500.
Meg McGinley (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) finished seventh with a 9.400,
Faith Mylin (Elgin, Ill./Harvest Christian Academy) recorded a 9.300 for ninth place and
Kelsey Kollhoff (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg) collected a 9.025 to place 12th overall.
UW-Whitewater moved over to floor exercise and produced a season-high 47.700, topping its previous best by nearly one full point. Kollhoff led the team with a 9.750, good for a tie for second place and a new personal record. Mylin tied her season high with a 9.725 to finish fourth, and North established a career best with a 9.700 to place fifth.
Kara Welsh (Plainfield, Ill./Central) finished eighth with a career-best 9.575, and
Meg McGinley (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) rounded out scoring with an 8.950, good for 16th overall.
The Warhawks registered the fourth-highest team score in program history on vault with a 48.200, earning three of the top five spots and five of the top 10. Welsh and
Rachel Lewellen (Ripley, Miss./Ripley) tied for first in the event and tied the 16th-best score in program history with matching 9.750s. McGinley set her personal record with a 9.625, good for fifth place. North (9.550) and Mylin (9.525) finished eighth and ninth, respectively.
UW-Whitewater wrapped up the meet on the uneven bars, placing four gymnasts among the top five in the event. Kollhoff secured the win with a collegiate-high 9.700 and was followed closely by runner-up
Estee Flom (Englewood, Colo./Cherry Creek), who totaled a personal-record 9.675. North finished fourth with a 9.575, Mylin placed fifth with a 9.375 and
Richella Velarmino (Bonney Lake, Wash./John R. Rogers) earned ninth place with an 8.975.
North tied the 17th-highest score in program history with a career-best 38.425 to win the all-around competition. Mylin was second with her 37.925 and Kollhoff placed third with a 37.900, her highest of the season.
The Warhawks head to Division I Northern Illinois Friday for a quad meet against NIU, Lindenwood and Southeast Missouri State. The first rotation begins at 6 p.m. in DeKalb, Ill.
