The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team continues Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a pair of games this week.
The Warhawks (11-4 overall, 4-0 WIAC) host No. 2 UW-Platteville Wednesday at 7 p.m. before visiting UW-River Falls Saturday for a 5 p.m. tipoff.

UW-Whitewater started last week Wednesday with an 82-78 victory at No. 4 ranked UW-Oshkosh.
Derek Gray (Madison, Wis./La Follette) tallied a career-high 36 points and made the go-ahead basket with 2:03 left in overtime.
Carter Capstran (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) added 17 points for UW-W, which hit 9-of-10 from the free-throw line over the final 36 seconds of the contest to secure the win.
Three days later, the Warhawks committed a season-low three turnovers and held a 21-5 advantage in points off turnovers on their way to a 77-72 triumph at UW-Eau Claire. Gray gave the team the lead for good on a jumper with 33 seconds to play and finished with 19 points.
Trevon Chislom (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) tallied 13 points, and
Drew Fisher (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) recorded 12 points with a team-best five rebounds.
Wednesday, Jan. 12, 7 p.m. – vs. UW-Platteville
UW-Platteville (15-0, 4-0), which is receiving nine first-place votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25, resumed conference play last week with two more wins to continue its unbeaten campaign. On Saturday, the Pioneers topped UW-Stout 93-86 behind 12 made 3-pointers and withstanding a late rally by the Blue Devils. Six players finished in double figures in scoring for UWP.
Quentin Shields paces UW-Platteville with 15.1 points per game and leads the team with 54 assists, while Kyle Tuma averages 14.3 points and a team-high 9.1 rebounds per game. Logan Pearson and Blake McCann each shoot better than 50 percent from the floor and average double figures in scoring.
The Warhawks dropped both meetings against the Pioneers during the shortened 2020-21 season, including a 64-58 setback on the road on Feb. 19, 2021. Chislom recorded 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists to lead UW-W, which was limited to 36.8 percent shooting in the contest.
Saturday, Jan. 15, 5 p.m. – at UW-River Falls
UW-River Falls (7-5, 0-3) played its first game since Dec. 18 on Saturday, falling 80-70 at No. 4 UW-Oshkosh. The Falcons were limited to 42.9 percent shooting from the floor while the Titans shot better than 50 percent.
Noah Hanson enters the week with a team-high 19.1 points-per-game average. Rodrick Payne averages 12.1 points per contest on 49.2 percent shooting. Seven other Falcons currently average between four and eight points per outing.
UW-Whitewater fell in its most recent meeting against UW-River Falls, an 81-76 setback in the first round of the WIAC Tournament on March 1, 2021. Chislom posted 21 points, and
Gage Malensek (Brookfield, Wis./Central) collected 17 points to lead the Warhawks, who shot 53.4 percent from the floor but were unable to sustain their halftime lead.
The Falcons visit 11th-ranked UW-La Crosse Wednesday at 7 p.m. before hosting the Warhawks Saturday.
