The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team extended its win streak to nine matches Wednesday with a 9-0 victory in a dual match at Elmhurst (Ill.).
The Warhawks (10-1 overall) captured all three doubles matches for the second straight dual.
Jake Macey (Southampton, England/King Edwards VI) and
Alex Gray (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) put UW-W on the board with an 8-3 triumph at the No. 1 position. At No. 3,
Parker Hearne (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) and
Ridley Aranda (Bayside, Wis./Nicolet) combined for an 8-4 win, and
Noah Guillermo (Muskego, Wis./Marquette University HS) and
Ryan Mitchell (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) paired up for an 8-5 victory at No. 2.
Macey also started the scoring in singles for the Warhawks with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at the top slot.
Noah Wankerl (Sauk City, Wis./Sauk Prairie) clinched the dual with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6.
Cole Lindwall (Cottage Grove, Wis./Monona Grove) didn't surrender a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2, and
Brendan Pietila (Sussex, Wis./Arrowhead) registered a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 3.
Brayden Kopp (Roselle, Ill./Bellbrook (Ohio)) was also a winner in straight sets, defeating Ben Cavka 7-5, 6-2 at the fourth position.
Josh Guillermo (Muskego, Wis./Marquette University HS) finished off the dual with a 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6) victory at the fifth position.
UW-Whitewater takes on national powerhouse Washington-St. Louis this Saturday at 2 p.m. in Bettendorf, Iowa.
