The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team faces UW-Platteville and UW-River Falls this week as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference enters its last week of the regular season.

The Warhawks (15-8, 4-8 WIAC), who finished 1-2 last week, host UW-Platteville on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and UW-River Falls at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The team currently leads UW-River Falls by one game for the sixth and final spot in next week's WIAC Championship.Â

After an 85-67 setback at No. 3 UW-Oshkosh on Feb. 4, UW-W lost to UW-Stevens Point, who is receiving votes from the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, 65-47 on Wednesday. The team came back Saturday to win 79-77 over UW-Stout.

On Wednesday in Whitewater, the Warhawks were held to a 31.5 shooting percentage. Rongstad led the team with 10 points.

On Saturday in Menomonie, Menke made a 3-pointer to tie the game with 52 seconds left to play. After forcing the Blue Devils to miss a 3-point shot, Brown made a lay-up, and a UW-Stout 3-pointer hit the rim and went out as time expired.

Wednesday - UW-Platteville, 7 p.m. (Kachel Gymnasium)
UW-Platteville (14-9, 7-5) split a pair of games last week, falling to No. 3 UW-Oshkosh in overtime 83-81 and defeating UW-River Falls on Saturday with a score of 57-54.

Senior Robert Duax is averaging 18.7 points per game while Clay Gerds and Carter Voelker average 6.1 and 5.4 rebounds per game, respectively.

UW-Whitewater won the first match-up against UW-Platteville, with a final score of 88-80. Brown Jr. broke the school record for scoring, posting 47 points in the game. The Warhawks held the Pioneers to a 41.2 shooting percentage.

Saturday - UW-River Falls, 5 p.m. (Kachel Gymnasium)
UW-River Falls (10-13, 3-9) split its last two games, defeating then ranked No. 25 UW-La Crosse 60-58 and falling to UW-Platteville 57-54.

The team's offense is led by Julian Jackson, who averages 15 points per game. Austin Heidecker averages a team-high 10.7 rebounds per contest.

The Warhawks and Falcons last played on Jan. 19, when UW-Whitewater topped UW-River Falls 87-85. UW-Whitewater trailed UW-River Falls until the final minutes, when junior
Riley Jensen (Milton, Wis./Janesville Craig) hit two key layups to ensure the team's first win over the Falcons since 2015. UW-W leads the all-time series, 76-46.
The Falcons visit UW-Eau Claire Wednesday before traveling to Whitewater Saturday.
