The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team traveled to UW-Platteville Thursday night for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual.

The No. 14 Warhawks (7-4, 4-0 WIAC) came from behind by winning five of the last six matches on the evening to claim a 26-19 victory over UW-Platteville (4-4. 1-3 WIAC).Â

The Warhawks dropped the first two matches by major decision before junior
Hazen Rice (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) put them on the board with a 17-2 technical fall in the 141. The Pioneers responded with a pin before the Warhawks took control of the match through the next three bouts to take a 17-14 lead.
Senior
Sonny Schieldt (Edgerton, Wis./Edgerton)Â started the run with an 8-1 decision at 157, and junior
Ryder Sigler (Fredonia, Wis./Cedarburg)Â scored a 24-8 technical fall with a late near fall at 165. Freshman
Ryan Vedner (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) put UW-Whitewater ahead for good with a 15-5 major decision at 174.

Nick Stencel (Oregon, Ohio/Clay) toppling the ninth-ranked wrestler in the 184-pound weight class, Grant Wedepohl, in a 7-6 decision. Â Junior
Riley Kauzlaric (Coal City, Ill./Coal City)Â clinched the match with a pin at 3:36 in the 197-pound weight class.Â
