The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team posted its second-highest score of the 2018 season Saturday with a 190.975 in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference meet against UW-La Crosse at Russell Arena.
The Eagles scored a 192.125 at the meet to hand the Warhawks their first conference loss of the season.

The Warhawks began the meet on vault, where they tallied a 47.650. Sophomore
Lauren Marshall (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion-Benton Township) led the team with a third-place finish and score of 9.650, while senior
Chloe Rehberg (Cary, IL/Cary-Grove) posted a 9.600 to place fifth. Junior
Erika Briscoe (Solon, Iowa/Solon) tied for sixth with a 9.500, and senior
Christina Slack (Albrightsville, PA/Jim Thorpe) and junior
Lisa O'Donnell (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) tied for eighth with matching 9.450s.
UW-Whitewater continued the meet on the uneven parallel bars, scoring a 47.550. Senior
Kate Mierow (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central) paced the team with a 9.675, good for a tie for second place. O'Donnell finished fourth with a 9.650, while Slack and freshman
Blaise Wilson (Thornton, Colo./Legacy) tied for eighth with scores of 9.475. Senior
Sarah Rhodes (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) finished 10th at 9.275.
The Warhawks' score of 47.550 on the balance beam is the 16th-highest in the program record book. Junior
Franchesca Hutton (Shakopee, Minn./Main Street School of Performing Arts) tied for third with a 9.575, and Briscoe placed fifth with a 9.525. Sophomore
Acacia Fossum (Gladstone, N.D./Richardton-Taylor) finished sixth with a 9.500, and Mierow and junior
Abby Helmke (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) tied for seventh at 9.475.
Hutton tied for first in the floor exercise with a score of 9.750, tied for 22nd in program history, to lead the Warhawks on balance beam. The team finished with its highest score of the day in any event, a 48.225, good for 11th in program history. Helmke placed fifth with a 9.650, and O'Donnell tied for sixth with a 9.625. Briscoe and Mierow collected 9.600s to tie for eighth place.
O'Donnell finished second in the all-around competition with a 37.800 on the day.
UW-Whitewater celebrated Senior Day, Alumni Day and Academic All-American Day during its second and final meet in Whitewater this season. The team also recognized the fifth anniversary of the 2013 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association national championship.
Mierow, Rehberg, Rhodes, Slack and fellow senior
Lewa Evans (Milwaukee, WI/Whitefish Bay) were honored with their families before and after the final home meet of their careers. All five were members of the 2015 WIAC championship and 2017 WIAC and national title winning teams.
Former Warhawks Kelsea Fischer, Katie Fiorilli and Courtney Pickett were recognized for garnering 2017 NCGA Academic All-America accolades.
The Warhawks head to the WIAC/NCGA West Regional Championships Sunday, March 4, at 2 p.m. in St. Peter, Minn. Gustavus Adolphus is the event host.
