The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team will recognize Play4Kay at this Wednesday's game against UW-Platteville at 7 p.m. at Kachel Gymnasium.

Fans are invited to wear pink to join the Warhawks, who will don pink uniforms to raise awareness for the national initiative. The first 100 UW-Whitewater students with photo identification to attend the game will receive a free Play4Kay t-shirt.

T-shirts will also be available for purchase at the door for all other fans, and a "Pass the Bucket" will take place during the contest to collect funds.

All proceeds will benefit Play4Kay, an organization dedicated to raising funds for women's cancer research.

Play4Kay is named for former North Carolina State head women's basketball coach Kay Yow, who passed away in 2009 after her third bout with breast cancer. Yow totaled more than 700 career wins as a head coach and led the Wolfpack to 20 NCAA Tournanent bids, including a trip to the Final Four in 1998.
