The No. 12 UW-Whitewater men's basketball team was defeated by UW-Stevens Point, 74-60, in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference matchup on Wednesday night in Stevens Point, Wis.
The Pointers shot 52.2 percent from the floor and 86.4 percent from the free-throw line compared to the Warhawks' 44.2 percent effort from the floor and 61.5 percent shooting from the free-throw line in the contest.

Andre Brown (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail) lead the Warhawks with 18 points and four assists. Junior forward

Dalton Menke (Rockford, Ill./Winnebago) each added nine points.
UW-Whitewater (15-5 overall, 5-4 WIAC) went on a 12-4 run early in the first half. Brown dropped in a basket for the Warhawks to give them a seven-point lead with 14:45 remaining in the half.
The Warhawks continued to hold the lead for a majority of the half. A jumper by junior guard
Mitchell Pfeifer (Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine) gave the Warhawks the lead, 23-18, with just under eight minutes remaining in the half.
With a minute remaining in the period, the Pointers finished a layup to tie the game, 33-33, which would be the score going into the half.
Depsite a quick 3-point basket by Rongstad in the third quarter, UW-Stevens Point (14-6 overall, 8-1 WIAC) went on a 17-4 run and led the Warhawks by 13 points with just under 10 minutes remaining in play.
With a tip-in from sophomore center
Riley Jensen (Milton, Wis./Janesville Craig), UW-Whitewater came within 7 with six minutes remaining in the contest, but would not take the lead for the remainder of the game.
Despite committing 13 turnovers compared to just seven by the Warhawks, UW-Stevens Point outscored UW-Whitewater 41-27 in the second half.
UW-Whitewater continues play Saturday, Feb. 3, at 3 p.m. against UW-Stout in Menomonie, Wis.
