The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team remained undefeated for the season Friday night after defeating Winona State and Hamline (Minn.) in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tri-meet in Winona, Minn.
The Warhawks (5-0 overall, 4-0 WIAC) recorded 187.525 points. Winona State collected 186.400 points, and Hamline tallied 183.675 points.
UW-Whitewater started the meet on the balance beam, recording a 47.025. Junior
Franchesca Hutton (Shakopee, Minn./Main Street School of Performing Arts) led the team and placed second overall with a 9.675, and senior
Kate Mierow (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central) finished third with a 9.625. Freshman
Jessi Rondeau (Norwood Young America, Minn./Central) scored a 9.450 to place sixth, and junior
Erika Briscoe (Solon, Iowa/Solon) tied for seventh with a 9.300. Junior
Abby Helmke (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) finished 11th with an 8.975.

Lisa O'Donnell (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) finished first overall with a 9.775, good for a tie for 15th in the program's all-time record book. Sophomore
Acacia Fossum (Gladstone, N.D./Richardton-Taylor) tied for fifth with a 9.575, Helmke tied for ninth with a 9.425, and Briscoe and Hutton scored matching 9.400s to tie for 11th overall.

Bailey Fitzpatrick (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) rounded out Warhawk scoring with a 9.100.

Blaise Wilson (Thornton, Colo./Legacy) finished 1-2-3 on the uneven parallel bars as UW-Whitewater closed the meet with a 46.450 in the event. Mierow tallied a 9.575, O'Donnell registered a 9.525 and Wilson contributed a 9.425. Senior
Christina Slack (Albrightsville, PA/Jim Thorpe) placed 13th with an 8.975, and Helmke tied for 14th with an 8.950.
The Warhawks head to New Brunswick, N.J., next Saturday for a quad meet at Division I Rutgers. Competition against Rutgers, Ohio State and West Chester (Pa.) is set to begin at 6 p.m. Central Time.
