The No. 2 UW-Whitewater men's basketball team was defeated by UW-Stevens Point, 75-69, in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference matchup Wednesday night.
After a 61 percent shooting performance by the Warhawks in the first half, UW-Stevens Point rallied in the second half and outscored the Warhawks 44-30.
The Warhawks finished the game with 53.8 percent shooting from the floor in the game, but UW-Stevens Point was able to force 20 turnovers and recorded 32 points off of turnovers.

David Sachs (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) lead the Warhawks with 13 points each. Junior forward Marquis Turner added 11 points and six rebounds.
UW-Whitewater (13-3 overall, 3-2 WIAC) scored the first six points of the game, but UW-Stevens Point responded with a 7-0 lead to take the lead. Brown finished a fast break dunk and sparked a 10-3 run for the Warhawks with 9:38 remaining in the first half.
The Warhawks remained in the lead for the rest of the half. Sachs finished back-to-back layups with less than five minutes in the half to give the Warhawks a 33-23 lead.
UW-Whitewater knocked down six free throws in the final four minutes of the half en route to a 39-31 lead at the end of the period.
UW-Stevens Point (11-5 overall, 5-0 WIAC) rallied in the second half and took the lead, 49-48, with 13:06 remaining in the game. UW-Whitewater regained the lead, 53-51, as junior guard
Dalton Menke (Rockford, Ill./Winnebago) sank a 3-pointer.
The Warhawks and the Pointers continued to trade baskets and recorded seven lead changes between the two teams in the half.
With 8:24 remaining in the game, Sachs finished a layup and gave the Warhawks the lead 56-55, but UW-Stevens Point answered with a 14-3 run and never trailed despite a pair of late 3-pointers by senior guard
