The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater softball team completed the non-conference portion of the regular season schedule Wednesday with a pair of wins at Carthage in a doubleheader in Kenosha, Wis.
The Warhawks (29-7 overall) posted a 10-0 triumph in six innings in the first game before earning a 9-5 victory in the nightcap.
UW-Whitewater pounded out 16 hits and extended their lead with a three-run top of the sixth inning in the second game.

Mallory Klotz (New Berlin, Wis./West), freshman third baseman
Meg Cohrs (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) and freshman designated player/pitcher
Dani Biesiada (Lisle, Ill./Naperville North) tallied three hits apiece. Cohrs and Biesiada, who homered to lead off the second inning, each knocked in two runs.
Senior first baseman
Amy Ricci (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) added two RBI, and sophomore centerfielder
Caitlin Catino (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) and sophomore shortstop
Kelly Berglund (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) collected two hits apiece.
Sophomore
Julia Camardo (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) improved to 8-2 with the win, posting six strikeouts in five innings of work. Biesiada struck out three during her two shutout innings in relief.
The Warhawks took control of the opener with a six-run third inning, highlighted by a two-out grand slam by freshman catcher
Nicole Neitzel (Verona, Wis./Verona Area). The team added three more in the top of the sixth, and the game via run rule after freshman
Bella Matthias (Greenfield, Wis./Greenfield) pitched a 1-2-3 bottom of the frame.
Matthias (13-3) struck out six in her seventh complete-game shutout of the season and fifth in her last seven outings. She has allowed only two earned runs since April 9, a span that includes 46 innings of work.
Neitzel and Ricci drove in four runs apiece to lead the offense. Klotz collected three hits and three runs scored, and Catino finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
UW-Whitewater resumes Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action Saturday with a doubleheader at UW-Stout. First pitch in Menomonie is slated for 3 p.m.
The Warhawks can clinch at least a share of the WIAC regular season championship and the No. 1 seed and hosting privileges in the conference tournament with one win at UW-Stout.
