The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's tennis team competed in its third dual meet of the season against a scholarship school Friday night, falling 7-0 at NCAA Division I UW-Green Bay at Western Racquet and Fitness Club in Green Bay, Wis.

Sophomore Rory Calabria (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and freshman Zach Wood (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove) took their match at No. 2 doubles to lead the Warhawks (5-3 overall). The duo held a 3-0 advantage before the Phoenix (3-6) tied the match at 4-4. The contest went to a tiebreaker at 5-5, but Calabria and Wood stood their ground in the tiebreak for a 6-5 (2) victory.

Junior Grant Thompson (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Lake Zurich) captured six total games at No. 1 singles, but was eventually downed 6-2, 6-4. Calabria and Wood each won four combined games at Nos. 3 and 5 singles, respectively.

The match was played under Division I rules, which dictate doubles matches as six-game pro-sets and the doubles best-of-three decision as one point in the team score.

UW-Whitewater returns to action March 4 with dual matches against Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) at 9 a.m. and Macalester (Minn.) at 3 p.m. Both matches are scheduled to be played in St. Peter, Minn.
