The No. 3 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team was unable to find an offensive rhythm in the second half Friday afternoon in a 66-53 setback against Adrian (Mich.) in a non-conference affair on the first day of the St. Andrews Products Classic at Trine University in Angola, Ind.
Despite forcing 19 turnovers defensively, the Warhawks (6-1 overall) were stymied on the offensive end. The team was held to 33.9 percent shooting from the floor, including a 26.9 per cent clip in the second half.
The Bulldogs (4-2) converted 48.9 percent from the field, including 50 percent in the second half, and hit 16-of-22 from the free-throw line.

Mitchell Pfeifer (Wales, Wis./Kettle Moraine) paced UW-Whitewater with 13 points to go along with three rebounds. Junior guard

Maurquis Turner (Milwaukee, Wis./King) tallied 11 points and five rebounds.

Derek Rongstad (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) posted six points, a team-high 10 rebounds and two steals, and junior guard
Dalton Menke (Rockford, Ill./Winnebago) registered six points and a game-high four steals off the bench.
The Warhawks held an 18-8 lead nine minutes into the first half following a 7-0 run, including a jumper by Pfeifer, a 3-pointer by Menke and a layup by Turner.
Adrian countered with 12 of the next 14 points to tie the game at 20-20 with 6:58 remaining in the period, but UW-Whitewater responded with a 7-2 run to take a 29-22 advantage with 4:02 left in the half.
After a three-and-a-half minute scoring drought, the Bulldogs knocked down a 3-pointer to bring their deficit to four entering halftime.
UW-Whitewater built its lead to nine with 17:31 remaining in the contest, but Adrian took the lead for good with an 12-1 run, which was capped by a 3-pointer with 13:13 on the clock.
The Warhawks kept within two possessions until the 2:16 mark, when the Bulldogs hit a pair of free throws. Brown brought UW-Whitewater to within six with a jumper on the next possession, but Adrian hit 8-of-10 free throws over the final 1:33 of regulation to seal the win.
With the loss, the Warhawks' regular season, non-conference winning streak was snapped at 23 games.
