WBCA NCAA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team ranks among the top 20 in two national polls after posting a 2-0 record last week.
The Warhawks (5-0 overall) moved up one spot to No. 13 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 and jumped four spots to No. 18 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll.
UW-Whitewater downed Concordia Wisconsin 86-67 on Oct. 27 and capped the week with another home win, an 82-65 defeat over Augustana (Ill.), on Thursday.
Senior guard
Brooke Trewyn (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) was named WIAC Player of the Week after posting two double-doubles and shooting 57.7 percent from the floor in the two games. She is only 10 points shy of 1,000 for her career heading into the week.
Four other Warhawks scored in double figures during at least one of the games. Senior guard
Malia Smith (Bolingbrook, Ill./Neuqua Valley) and sophomore guard
Camri Conley (Sugar Grove, Ill./Kaneland) collected 16 points apiece against Concordia, while junior forward
Becky Deichl (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) and sophomore guard
Becky Raeder (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) posted 18 and 12 points, respectively, against Augustana.
UW-Whitewater's lone game this week is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Coe (Iowa). The team hosts MSOE next Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. before heading to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Dec. 18-19 for the Cruzin' Classic.
