The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team posted a strong score on the vault Saturday on its way to a 188.275-181.725 win over Gustavus Adolphus in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual meet in St. Peter, Minn.
 
The Warhawks (2-0 overall, 2-0 WIAC) started the meet on the uneven parallel bars and tallied a team score of 46.825. UW-Whietwater claimed the top five spots on the apparatus, led by sophomore Lisa O'Donnell (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West), who scored a 9.550. Senior Mackenzie Smith (Milwaukee, Wis./Martin Luther) was second with a  9.500, followed by junior McKenzie Foster (Manitou Beach, MI/Addison), who tallied a 9.375. Senior Katie Fiorilli (Solon, OH/Solon) followed in fourth with a 9.275 and junior Kate Mierow (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central) was fifth with a 9.125.
 
UW-Whitewater tied the program's No. 7 score on the vault with a 48.000. Junior Chloe Rehberg (Cary, IL/Cary-Grove) led the field with a 9.700, and Fiorilli finished second with a 9.650. Senior Courtney Pickett (Brentwood, TN/Brentwood), juniors Lewa Evans (Milwaukee, WI/Whitefish Bay) and Christina Slack (Albrightsville, PA/Jim Thorpe) tied for third with matching scores of 9.550.
 
O'Donnell led the Warhawks in the floor exercise with a 9.725, tied for the 20th-best tally in program history. Pickett was just behind at 9.700, good for second place, and freshman Acacia Fossum (Gladstone, N.D./Richardton-Taylor) posted a 9.525, good for third. Evans and Slack tied for fifth place with matching scores of 9.400.
 
UW-Whitewater wrapped up the meet on the balance beam with a 45.700 and took four of the top six spots. Foster finished second with a 9.575, while Pickett was third with a 9.500. Freshman Lauren Marshall (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion-Benton Township) totaled a 9.200 to place fifth, and Fiorilli collected an 8.725 to place sixth. Evans rounded out Warhawk scoring with an 8.700, good for a tie for seventh.
 
Fiorilli and O'Donnell placed second and third, respectively, in the all-around. Fiorilli finished with a 36.825, and O'Donnell tallied a 36.575.
 
The Warhawks host their 2017 home opener next Saturday, Jan. 28, against UW-Eau Claire. Competition begins at 4 p.m. on Parents and 10.0 Club Night at UW-Whitewater Volleyball Arena inside the Williams Center.
