The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team submitted a dominating performance Saturday afternoon in a 189.100-178.750 win over Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual meet on Breast Cancer Awareness Day at Russell Arena.

Clad in pink to support breast cancer awareness and research, the Warhawks claimed all four rotations to tally the No. 18 team score in program history.

Junior Courtney Pickett (Brentwood, TN/Brentwood) won two events and claimed top all-around honors with a 38.100, tied for her season high and the No. 19 mark in school history.

UW-Whitewater swept the top six spots on the uneven parallel bars, its second event of the meet, and finished with a score of 48.100, the team's highest of the season and No. 3 score of all time. Juniors Mackenzie Smith (Milwaukee, Wis./Martin Luther) and Katie Fiorilli (Solon, OH/Solon) entered the program's top 25 in the record book with scores of 9.725 (T-11th) and 9.675 (T-24th), respectively. Senior Megan Love (Henrico, VA/Godwin) and freshman Lisa O'Donnell (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) tied for third with identical scores of 9.625, and Pickett tallied a 9.450 to place fifth.

Fiorilli led the Warhawks on the vault with a 9.600, tying her season best. Freshman Destiny Patrick (Columbia, Mo./Hickman) was second with a 9.500, followed in order by Pickett (9.475) and O'Donnell (9.400). Sophomore Lewa Evans (Milwaukee, WI/Whitefish Bay) and senior Hannah Lee (Clarksville, TN/Clarksville) tied for sixth with a 9.375.

Pickett led UW-Whitewater on the balance beam with a 9.600. Senior Kristin Shackleton (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln Way Central) was third with a 9.475, followed by freshman Franchesca Hutton (Shakopee, Minn./Main Street School of Performing Arts), who was fourth with a 9.275. Lee placed sixth with a mark of 9.075, and Love rounded out the team's scorers with an 8.850.

The Warhawks closed the meet strong in the floor exercise with a 47.375, their second-best rotation score of the day. Pickett (9.575) was followed, in order, by Hutton (9.525), O'Donnell (9.525) and Love (9.425). Lee tallied a 9.325 to place sixth overall.

All proceeds from t-shirt sales and the "Pass the Bucket" initiative for scores of 9.500 or higher from Saturday will benefit Unite For Her, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting gymnasts and their families who experience the financial burden of fighting breast cancer.

UW-Whitewater resumes WIAC competition next Saturday at UW-Oshkosh. Events are slated to begin at 2 p.m.
