The No. 14 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team competed in its final home meet of the season Thursday night, falling 44-0 against UW-Parkside, the No. 6 ranked team in NCAA Division II, in a dual match at Kachel Gymnasium.
The Warhawks concluded their dual schedule with an 11-5 record, while the Rangers improved to 9-2 for the season.
Prior to the dual, seniors
Matt Adcock (Bloomingdale, Ill./Lake Park),
Tom Gerszewski (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South),
Kory Jauch (Rolling Meadows, Ill./Rolling Meadows) and
Corey Meyer (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) were recognized prior to their final home event.
Adcock, Gerszewski and Meyer have been a part of three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships, three NCAA Regional titles and three top 10 national finishes. Jauch is in his third year with the team and has been a part of the last two years of success.
Adcock, who did not wrestle Thursday, ranks fourth in the program record book with 113 career wins. Gerszewski owns 100 victories for his career.
The Warhawks compete in their final tune-up before the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship this Saturday at the Don Parker Open. Wrestling is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
