Related Links:Box Score The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team won an overtime thriller against Beloit College Saturday night 73-71 in a non-conference contest played in Beloit.
Junior forward
Cole Van Schyndel (Kaukauna, Wis./Wrightstown) led the Warhawks (4-2) with a career night scoring 29 points on 13-20 shooting from the field while grabbing 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.
Senior guard
Trinson White (Milwaukee, Wis./Riverside) finished with 11 points and three assists. Teammate
Ethan Guske (Sheboygan, Wis./North) posted nine points on 3-7 shooting including 2-4 from behind the 3-point line.
Freshman guard
Andre Brown (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail) pitched in six point points on 3-7 shooting from the field in 16 minutes off the bench. Teammate
Jerry Ngobi (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig) had eight points on the night to go along with a team-best three assists.
After trailing 38-31 at the end of the first half, the Warhawks chipped away at the Beloit (2-4) lead by going on an 8-0 run to start the second half to take their first lead of the game with 16:34 left in the half.
In the overtime period it was a free throw contest between the two teams. The Warhawks went 6-of-10 from the charity strip to seal the victory.
UW-Whitewater will be back in action Wednesday Dec. 9th where they will take on Wheaton College in the Kachel Gymnasium with the tip-off set for 7 p.m.
