The Warhawks (4-2 overall) started the day with a 33-9 triumph over Loras (Iowa), continued with a 25-21 win over Elmhurst (Ill.) and completed the tournament with a 28-12 victory over 22nd-ranked Mount Union (Ohio).

Matt Adcock (Bloomingdale, Ill./Lake Park),
Tom Gerszewski (Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake South), sophomore
Connor Price (Muskego, Wis./Muskego), freshmen
Brandon Arteaga (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich) and
Nicholas Bonomo (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) each finished 3-0 for the day.
Adcock, the nation's consensus No. 2 wrestler at 141 pounds, recorded victories by decision over Elmhurst's James Nehls, the country's consensus third-ranked wrestler, and Mount Union's Jeremy Border, who is No. 7 by the National Wrestling Coaches Association and No. 8 by D3wrestle.com. He also downed Loras' Evan Weaver, a contender according to D3wrestle.com, by decision.
At 165, Gerszewski, listed as a contender by D3wrestle.com, collected two pins and a major decision. Price tallied a major decision and two decisions at 174.
Arteaga highlighted his day with a pin against Loras' Jimmy Davis, who is ranked as honorable mention by D3wrestle.com, at 157. Bonomo, listed as a D3wrestle.com contender at 184, registered two pins and a technical fall.
The two-man contingent of sophomore
Austin Quartullo (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) and junior
Joseph Brodman (Tiffin, Ohio/Calvert), who is in the honorable mention section of the D3wrestle.com rankings, finished unbeaten at 133 pounds. Quartullo was 1-0 with a decision over Mount Union's Alec Cotton, a D3wrestle.com contender. Brodman contributed a pin and finished 2-0 for the day.
Sophomore
Isaiah Vela (West Chicago, Ill./St. Charles East), ranked third in the nation by both the NWCA and D3wrestle.com, finished 2-1 for the day at 149 pounds. His lone loss came against Elmhurst's Blake Santi, the nation's No. 1 ranked wrestler.
UW-Whitewater resumes action Dec. 29-30 at the Midlands Championships in Evanston, Ill.
