OLIVET, Mich. - The top-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team went 4-0 in the Olivet Comet Duals hosted by Olivet College at the Cutler Event Center Saturday. The Warhawks won 31 of 40 bouts over the four dual matches.

Five Warhawks went 4-0 on the day. Ronny Hauser (Hoffman Estates, IL/Fremd) registered a fall, major decision and two decisions in the 133 pound weight class. At 141 pounds, Jimmy Nehls (Downers Grove, IL/North) posted a technical fall and three decision en route to a 4-0 showing. Tom Gerszewski (Crystal Lake, IL/Crystal Lake South) notched a fall, major decision and two decision at 157 pounds. A fall and three decisions at 165 pound for Willie Anaya (Downers Grove, IL/Downers Grove) added four wins to his season total and Shane Siefert (Mundelein, IL/Carmel) won by fall twice, technical fall and by decision to go 4-0 in the 197 pound weight class.

In the 125 pound weight class, Nick Koch (Round Lake, Ill./Grant) went 1-2 and Logan Hanselmann (Cary, Ill./Cary-Grove) was 0-1.

Corey Meyer (Cary, IL/Cary-Grove) went 2-0 with a fall and technical fall at 149 pounds. The pin came in 7:23 over James Carey of Alma College, ranked tenth individually at 149 pounds. Casey Crangle (Germantown, Wis./Menomonee Falls) went 1-1 in the weight class. 

At 174 pounds, Jordan Newman (Blaine, MN/St. John's Military Academy), ranked ninth, went 2-1 with his sole loss coming at the hands of sixth ranked Jamie Jakes in sudden victory overtime. Mitch Elmer was 0-1 in the weight class with a loss to Olivet's Nicholas Allen, ranked fourth in the nation.

Angel Botzoc (Marengo, IL/Marengo) was 2-2 in the 184 pound weight class and Jake Andersen (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) went 3-1 at 285 pounds. Andersen's loss came in his first bout of the day to Trine's Mackenzie Green, ranked fourth by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

The Warhawks also have wrestlers competing in the CUW Open hosted by Concordia University-Wisconsin Saturday. 

UW-Whitewater will split their squad December 5 and 6 with one group heading to Mechanicsburg, Penn. for the Messiah Petrofes Invitational and the other competing in the Wisconsin Open in Kenosha, Wis.
