Box Score UW-Whitewater's defense picked up 24 steals and forced 34 turnovers in a 76-46 win over the College of Saint Scholastica Sunday in the Quality Inn and Suites Turkey Shoot hosted by UW-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin Sunday.

With Whitewater leading 5-4 the Warhawks used an 11-2 run to open a double figure lead, 16-6 with 11:40 left in the first half. The Saints responded with a 6-0 run to close within four, 16-12 at 9:40. Back to UW-W and an 11-3 burst to make it 27-15 at the 5:06 mark. CSS hit a three pointer to pull within nine, 27-18 at 4:52, and were within double digits again at 29-20 at 4:03 -- the last time the Saints scored in the first half as UW-W closed with a 12-0 run for a 41-20 lead at intermission.
CSS never cut the deficit back to single digits in the second half. Whitewater's largest lead, with 5:30 remaining, was 74--37.
The margin of victory is Whitewater's largest since a 92-61 win over UW-Superior February 20, 2010 at home.
UW-W scored 32 points off Saint Scholastica turnovers, while the Saint's scored seven points off Warhawk turnovers. Whitewater's 24 steals is third in the school record book, tied with two others -- with none since December 11, 1996 against Rockford College.

Kaitlyn Thill (Belgium/Ozaukee) led the Warhawks with 15 points, seven steals and five assists, giving her back-to-back games with seven steals. Junior center

Chantel Burg (Hartford/Hartford Union) both contributed ten points. Sophomore center Caitlin McKernon led CSS with 14 points and six rebounds, and senior center Laura Amys shared the team rebounding lead with six.
UW-W, 5-1, will host UW-Stout Saturday, December 3 at 4:00 in Kachel Gym of Williams Center. Saint Scholastica is 0-5.
