UW-Whitewater defeated Wisconsin Lutheran College 82-67 Wednesday night at Kachel Gym in Williams Center in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

With the score knotted at 9-9 at the 12:40 mark of the first half, UW-W scored the next eight points to lead 17-9 at 11:02. However, the Warriors followed with their own run, this time nine in a row, to take an 18-17 lead at 7:31.
Alex Merg (Greendale/Greendale) hit a jumper with 0:41 left in the half to send Whitewater in to the locker room with a 33-32 lead.
UW-W came out of the half on a 8-0 run to take a 41-32 lead at 17:32. That established a margin that stayed in single digits most of the second half, with the final score the largest lead of the game.
The Warhawks were led by junior center
Chris Davis (Madison/East)' double double, 21 points and 15 rebounds. Davis also led Whitewater with four steals and was tops in the game with three blocked shots. Four others joined him in double figures, including sophomore guard
Antone Byrd (Milwaukee/Washington) 16, senior guard #D.J. Dantzler# 13, freshman guard
Cody Odegaard (Poynette/Poynette) 12, and junior forward
Alex Edmunds (Cedarburg/Cedarburg) with 11. Dantzler also led both teams with seven assists. Wisconsin Lutheran was led by junior guard Jeremy Murphy's 24 points, including 10-10 from the line, and four steals. Junior forward Alex Merbach added 13 and freshman forward Russell Strutz had 12. Senior forward Darnell Williams grabbed 14 boards for the Warriors.
UW-Whitewater is 2-1. Wisconsin Lutheran is 0-4.
