Stout scored the first basket of the game, but that would be the Blue Devils' only lead, as UW-W scored 15 of the next 18 points to lead 15-5 led on the back (arm, actually) of senior guard Nicole Bundy (Fredonia/Ozaukee)'s eight points in that stretch.  Stout came back within five, 18-13 at 11:14.  Whitewater regained the momentum and built a 36-23 lead, the largest lead of the game for either team.  UW-W led 40-29 at the half with Bundy accounting for almost half the total with 18 points.

UW-S made the first basket of the second half but the nets closed and neither team could get into the scoring column for the next two minutes.  One more basket by Stout was followed by another ninety seconds without a point.  The Blue Devils inched within four, 47-43 at 13:02, but Whitewater scored the next five points and held that type of margin the rest of the way.

Although Stout owned the rebound advantage 40-33, Whitewater's defense was credited with 14 steals, six by senior guard Heidi Sonntag (Milwaukee/Wisconsin Lutheran) to negate the margin on the glass.  UW-W also hit 9-20 from three point range, compared to 3-12 for UW-S.

Bundy totaled 26 points, hitting 5-7 from three point range, for game scoring honors.  Bundy came in to the game averaging 12.9 points per game.  Bundy was backed by a triumvarite, Kelsey Hendrickson (Monroe/Monroe), Cortney Kumerow (Bartlett, IL/South Elgin) and Chantel Burg (Hartford/Hartford Union), with 13 points apiece.  The same trio led Whitewater with five rebounds each, with Sonntag dishing out a game high six assists.

Stout was led by senior forward Julia Hirrsig's 16 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists.  Kim Stokke, a senior guard, topped UW-S with 18 points and three steals, and senior guard Danielle Dewitt chipped in with 11 points.

UW-W, ranked twenty-second in the D3hoops.com poll, is 14-5 overall and 7-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  UW-Stout is 11-8 and 6-4.

Whitewater's next game is in LaCrosse Wednesday.  UW-W will return home February 13 to host UW-Eau Claire at 3:00 in Kachel Gym in Williams Center for the annual Pink Zone game sponsored by Mercy Health Systems.
