The tag team of
Nicole Bundy (Fredonia/Ozaukee) and
Cortney Kumerow (Bartlett, IL/South Elgin) helped UW-Whitewater, 13-4 (6-2), put UW-Platteville, 9-7 (2-5), on the ropes in a 79-65 win at the Kachel Gym in Williams Center in Whitewater Wednesday night.

Bundy and Kumerow combined for 54 points and ten rebounds. Both were already in double figures by halftime, scoring 11 apiece, as UW-W led 39-32.
Platteville scored the first basket of the second half to cut the margin to five, but that was as close as they would get. The Warhawks eventually built a fifteen point lead, twice, at 77-62 with 1:24 left and 79-64 with 0:49 remaining.
Whitewater used the long ball to its advantage, hitting 8-16 from the three point line, while Platteville made just three. UW-W also shot 52% from the floor while building a lead in the second half, while limiting UW-P to 39%.
Bundy, a senior guard, scored 29 points, including 5-9 from beyond the arc. Kumerow contributed 25 points. Bundy, Kumerow and point guard
Kelsey Hendrickson (Monroe/Monroe) had five rebounds each. Hendrickson also scored 11 points and passed for six assists. Senior guard
Heidi Sonntag (Milwaukee/Wisconsin Lutheran) dished out her season high seven assists.
Senior guard Charity Stotmeister led UW-P with 19 points and five rebounds. Senior forward Stacia Nemitz scored 12 and shared the rebound lead with Stotmeister, and freshman guard Claire Poad scored 17, hitting 7-8 from the line.
Whitewater's next game will be on January 27, when they host UW-Stevens Point, ranked twentieth in the D3hoops.com poll, at 7:00 p.m.
