Basketball Programs to Host Take A Kid to the Game Day

The UW-Whitewater men's and women's basketball programs are set to host their annual Kid's Day celebration Saturday, January 30. This year both teams partnered with the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Take a Kid to the Game grass roots marketing program. The Warhawks are hosting one of more than 700 games that will be played across the nation as part of the Take A Kid to the Game (TAKG) program in its fifteenth season. (Please see the Take a Kid to the Game Day flyer for an outline of the day's events.)

There will be FREE ADMISSION for all youth, eighth grade and below, as well as, a number of different prizes and give-a-ways. We are pleased to announce there will be a special guest appearance by the Miller Park Racing Sausages for both contests! They will be available for greeting fans, taking photos and will take part in the special halftime contests. Following both games there will be an autograph session with the players. (Additional information is available on the Kid's Day flyer.)

The UW-W dance team will hold a clinic for kids prior to the women's game as part of the National Girls and Women in Sports Day which is being held in conjunction with Kid's Day. Registration for this will begin at 12:30 pm and the participants will perform at halftime of the women's game. (Please see the Dance Clinic flyer for details.)

A big thank you goes out to Rocky Rococo's for sponsoring the women's game and another to Greenhouse Cafe for sponsoring the men's game.

Both teams will face-off against UW-Stout with the women's game beginning at 4 pm and the men following at 6 pm.
