Eric Schueffner

Eric Schueffner is entering his third year as an assistant coach with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater track and field and cross country programs, specializing in jumps, multi-events, and mid-distance.  During his first two seasons at UW-Whitewater, Schueffner coached 16 NCAA Qualifiers, 10 All-Americans, 5 school record holders, 3 WIAC conference champions, and 1 national champion (Marcus Smith - men’s outdoor Triple Jump).  During the 2013 indoor season, Schueffner was awarded the NCAA DIII Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year by the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association).  
Prior to joining the UW-Whitewater staff, Schueffner spent one year with the UW-Madison men’s track and field program, focusing on multi-events, jumps, and hurdles. From 2006-2010, Schueffner was an assistant coach for men’s and women’s track and field at Seattle University. While at Seattle U., Schueffner coached sprints, hurdles, relays and jumps, and recruited athletes who went on to break nearly every school record both indoor and outdoor, culminating with two NCAA DI Great West Conference Champions (400m and 400H). He also assisted Seattle University in fund-raising, alumni events, camps, strength and conditioning, and cross country training camp. Prior to his time in Seattle, Schueffner assisted the women's track and field team at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2004-2006), focusing on sprints, hurdles, and high jump. Before his stint with the Badgers, Schueffner spent five seasons at Madison LaFollette High School (2000-2004) where he was part of three conference championships and one WIAA State Championship (2002).
Schueffner received a Bachelor of Arts degree (Graphic Design) from UW-Whitewater, and a Master of Science degree in Sports Administration and Leadership from Seattle University. Schueffner holds a USATF level I certification, has written for the USTFCCCA, and has spoken numerous times at WISTCA (Wisconsin) and WSTFCA (Washington) track and field conventions. Schueffner lettered four times for the Warhawks (1993-96) and was a two-time all-conference selection. He finished second in the 600 meters at both the 1994 and 1996 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, and third in the 800 meters at the 1996 WIAC Outdoor Championships. He was UW-W's team captain in 1996, and earned the WIAC's Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete Award in 1996. Coach Schueffner resides in Middleton with his wife Kerrie and daughters Lilly (4) and Cora (2).
