John Flood (Spring Grove, IL/Richmond-Burton Community), Senior, Defensive Lineman
Flood was selected the team's Defensive MVP of the 22nd annual George Chryst Bowl after helping lead the No. 2 Warhawks to a 30-24 triumph at eighth-ranked UW-Platteville on Saturday. He registered three tackles, including 1.5 sacks for a loss of six yards. He combined with Brandon Tamsett(Waterford/Waterford-Union) for his first sack on a third-and-2 early in the second quarter to force a Pioneer punt, which UW-Whitewater turned into a touchdown on the ensuing drive. On UW-Platteville's next drive, Flood sacked Tom Kelly for a loss of five yards, and the Pioneers eventually settled for a field goal attempt, which was missed. His other tackle, near the end of the first quarter, came on third-and-20 and forced a UW-Platteville punt.
