McGrath was named second team All-America and first team All-West Region by D3football.com and first team All-WIAC after playing an integral role on the defense of the Warhawk football team in 2019. He posted 59 tackles, including four for a loss, and led the team in interceptions (4), passes defended (14) and blocked kicks (3) while adding two fumbles recovered and one forced fumble. McGrath's performance helped UW-Whitewater win the WIAC championship and reach Stagg Bowl (NCAA Division III national championship game). In 2018, he finished with 36 tackles and three interceptions. A two-year member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, McGrath is majoring in marketing.
