Bella Matthias (Greenfield, Wis./Greenfield), Junior
Matthias finished 3-0 with a 1.15 earned run average and 42 strikeouts in 30 1/3 innings over five appearances last week to help the Warhawks post a 7-1 record and capture the program's third consecutive WIAC regular season championship. She tossed back-to-back, one-hit shutouts in UW-Whitewater's 4-0 victory at Carthage on Thursday and the team's 7-0 triumph against UW-La Crosse on Friday. Matthias capped the week Sunday with a four-hit shutout, tallying 13 strikeouts over seven frames in the Warhawks' 4-0 win at UW-Eau Claire that clinched the conference title and top seed in this week's WIAC Championship tournament.
