Zach Wood (Downers Grove, Ill./South), Sophomore
Wood posted a pair of victories in straight sets Saturday to help the Warhawks win a pair of dual matches at Premier Tennis and Fitness in Janesville. He started the day with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph over George Go III of Wabash (Ind.) at No. 6 singles to help UW-Whitewater take a 4-1 lead on its way to a 6-3 triumph. Wood moved up two spots to the fourth position against Illinois Tech, recording a 6-1, 6-3 win over Adam Laitinen to clinch the match for the Warhawks. He leads the team in singles victories this season with a 15-8 record.
