The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team recently received supplemental drawings for the Football Performance Center/Locker Room Project from design firm Kahler Slater.
The latest drawings include renderings of the Student Athletic Complex façade near the south end zone of Perkins Stadium, areas for sports medicine and physical therapy and locker room and other team areas.
Construction is slated to begin in 2017.
The project is a comprehensive renovation of the Perkins Stadium service building that will fulfill the needs of today's student-athlete and help carry Warhawk Football into the next era.
The current facility has not been significantly modified since it was constructed more than 40 years ago. Basic needs like air conditioning, space for injury treatments and a properly ventilated locker room are all necessary to keep student-athletes safe and healthy.
A brand new, larger and more functional locker room will give UW-Whitewater a suitable meeting space and serve as a valuable recruiting tool. In addition, the sports medicine area will expand and feature a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy that is integral to the recovery and rehabilitation of student-athletes.
