The Warhawk football team is ranked atop the D3football.com Top 25 preseason poll for the first time in the eight seasons D3football.com has produced the poll. Whitewater received 20 out of the 25 votes for the number one ranking.

UW-W is ranked number one in The Sporting News Top 25 and second in the USA Today Sports Weekly Top 25 national preseason polls.

The defending National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III champions look to make their sixth consecutive trip to the Division III championship game, the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Salem, VA this season. The previous five seasons the Warhawks have met Mount Union College (OH) in the Stagg Bowl bringing home two national championships.

UW-W will also try to defend their five consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles this fall.
