Jeff Schebler (Davenport, IA/Assumption) was nominated for the Gagliardi Award by Jostens, and the J-Club of Saint Johns University in Collegeville, MN. UW-Whitewater has had one player win the award and another as a finalist. Justin Beaver, running back, is a two time finalist for the award (2005,2007). He won the Gagliardi Award in 2007 which recongizes the best Division III player in the country. Defensive Lineman Ryan Kleppe was a finalist in 2006 for the award.

Jeff Schebler (Davenport, IA/Assumption), a senior from Davenport, Iowa, holds UW-Whitewater, WIAC and Division III records. He is a three time All-American and 2009 Fred Mitchell Award Finalist.  After Schebler's performance in the game against Lakeland, where he scored ten points, he became the all time kick scoring leader in NCAA football. His individual efforts has led to the success of the team in reaching the Stagg Bowl in each of his seasons. UW-Whitewater continues their quest to the Stagg Bowl this Saturday facing off with Wittenberg University in Division III Quarterfinal action at Perkins Stadium at 12:00 PM.
