Jessa Luebke (Tomah/Tomah) won two events to lead the Warhawk women in the North Central Triangular in Naperville, Illinois Friday night. North Central, ranked sixth in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III poll, won the meet with 126 points, followed by twenty-third ranked UW-Whitewater at 95 and Loras College with 45.
meet results
Luebke, a junior, won the weight throw with a distance of 50-7.5, and she won the shot put with a distance of 40-9.5.
Sara Poppe (Germantown/Kettle Moraine Lutheran) added another first for UW-W, winning the triple jump at 37-0.5, and Shelby Demos (Janesville/Parker) won the high jump at 5-3.25. Poppe's jump meets the NCAA Division III provisional qualifying standard, but she has already bettered that this season.
The distance medley relay of Alyssa Duncan (East Troy/East Troy), Ryanne Bell (Boscobel/Boscobel), Danielle Anton (Marshall/Marshall), and #Madeline Roznos (Milwaukee/Milwaukee Lutheran High School) also broke the tape, timed in 12:57.19. Anton also added an individual third place finish in the 400 (1:02.04).
Other top finishes for the Warhawks included second place points from Tiera Barmore (Madison/La Follette) in the long jump (16-4.5), Megan Blake (Waukesha/Waukesha South) behind Luebke in the weight throw (47-3), Jackie Nett (Hilbert/Hilbert) in the mile (5:36.57), and Kristen Heitsman (Janesville/Parker) in the 55 meters (7.72).
UW-W will be at home next Saturday to host the Warhawk Classic, the team's third home meet in four outings. The meet at Kachel Fieldhouse will begin at 12:00.
